Douglas W. Denton, MA, LCDC, LCCA, ADS., Executive Director Mr. Denton has been the Executive Director of Homeward Bound, Inc., since the founding of its first program with the Dallas County Adult Probation Department. This project was to develop a pilot program for first offenders in need of job placement, housing and guidance. He has successfully managed numerous subsequent contracts as Homeward Bound, Inc., has grown with support from private donations and funding sources such as the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the City of Dallas. Mr. Denton was also one of the managing partners in a group developing psychiatric/substance abuse hospital units from 1987 to 1992 . Prior to 1980, Mr. Denton managed the Treatment Alternatives to Street Crime (TASC) Program and the Community Services Jail Program for Dallas County. He was a senior research associate from 1974 to 1978 in the Institute of Urban Studies, and an Adjunct Instructor of Sociology, Criminal Justice, Grant Writing and Management as well as Research and Statistics for the University of Texas at Arlington and the Dallas County Community College District. Mr. Denton holds a BA in Sociology and an MA in Urban Affairs (Criminal Justice Counseling and Administration). He is licensed by the State of Texas as a Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist( ADS) and a Child Care Administrator (LCCA).

Diana S. Burns Director of Grants Management Ms. Burns holds a BA degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She has worked as a program planner, grant writer, and quality assurance manager in the substance abuse and mental health fields for 20 years. As grant writer she has secured numerous SAMHSA and Department of Justice discretionary contracts as well as numerous state, county, and city awards. Ms. Burns' experience includes data collection and management, contract compliance and quality assurance, and she has served as Project Director on a Robert Wood Johnson Advancing Recovery Project.

Phil Ray, M.Ed, M.B.A. Information Systems Mr. Ray originally worked for Homeward Bound as a freelance grant editor. He was working here full-time in the COPSD program when he was appointed Director of Operations. His backgroung includes Fortune 500 IT programming and project management as well as consulting.

Programs

Michelle Valenciano Hemm, MA, LCDC Clinical Director - Residential Programs - Michelle joined Homeward Bound in January 2012. Prior to coming to Homeward Bound, Michelle served for 10 years as Director of Phoenix Houses of Texas Adolescent Treatment facility in Dallas establishing and managing an adolescent residential treatment center and out-patient counseling program. In 2005, she was named Phoenix House Director of Dallas Area Programs managing residential, out-patient and prevention programs. Michelle also established and served as Director of Phoenix House Outpatient program in Denton County. From 1984 - 2000 Michelle worked for Daytop Village starting as a counselor and rising to Assistant Director and Clinical Director. She has a BS degree in Communications from St. Johns University and a Masters in Counseling from Amberton in Dallas. She is a certified trainer in several evidence-based programs including CYT.

Jeffry R. Fuller, M. Div, LCDC, ADS Director for Outpatient Services and for Human Resources Jeff has been working for Homeward Bound for the last 5 years. His experience in the chemical dependence and mental health fields brings to the table a real understanding of Dual Diagnosis. He has served as pastor of four congregations in Illinois, Kentucky, and Ohio, specializing in pastoral care and counseling. While in Texas, he has accumulated experience in methadone treatment family counseling. Jeff has 4 years experience as an acupuncture detoxification specialist. At HOmeward Bound he supervises the men's senior staff in clinical matters related to DHSH and NorthStar funding. And he still has time to conduct professional training in the community.

Charlie Garcia, Program Director for Trinity Center, EL Paso Charlie became a member of Homeward Bound, Inc.Trinity Center, El Paso, since January 2007. He has over 18 years experience working in the chemical dependency and mental health fields; for the past 5 years, he worked as manager for a treatment center in El Paso.
