Homeward Bound will offer residential treatment as soon as we complete our move to a new facility. Outpatient treatment and administrative offices are located at 315 Sunset Avenue. This facility is easily accessible from I-35 and I-30 and is on several DART bus lines. All programs are licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Each client is assigned to a treatment team that manages his or her treatment every step of the way – from detox to residential treatment to outpatient counseling, to support for re-entry to the outside world. We give clients the physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual help they need to move to a full, healthy life.

Whenever there’s substance addiction in a family, there’s guilt and sorrow. We involve the entire family by giving them the support, therapy, and resources they need. We take it one step at a time.

A large part of our mission has always been to divert people from going to jail or prison. Our founder and executive director, Douglas W. Denton, designed and operated the first jail diversion program in Texas – and one of the first in the nation.

Homeward Bound, Inc., is the go-to resource for judges, attorneys, probation officers, public hospital emergency rooms and law enforcement officers. Recently, Homeward Bound has partnered with the Dallas Police Department in its new Serial Inebriant Treatment program, which provides intervention and treatment for Dallas’ most intransigent substance abusers who use a good deal of public services.

Our psychiatric team, nurses, and an ABAM-certified medical director provide medically supervised crisis stabilization and detoxification services and care for our residential clients.

Licensed counselors provide intensive residential treatment on a 24-hour-a-day, 7-days-a-week basis.

Outpatient treatment sessions are available Tuesday through Saturday in the morning, afternoon and evening and include individual and group counseling, education about addiction, and training in the life skills needed for a productive life.

12-step programs and peer counseling are integral parts of treatment.

Se habla español: A number of our staff are fluent in Spanish, and we provide a full Spanish language program at our facility in El Paso.

We also provide training for professionals seeking to maintain their licenses through continuing education and for people beginning their training as addiction specialists.
