WOMEN'S RESIDENTIAL

The women's residential program is a 16-bed facility focused on improving the lives of the women in our community for the long-term. An initial intake assessment allows us to design an individualized treatment plan that includes medical and psychological help.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

In the residential program, clients can access counseling, psychiatric evaluations, and evaluations for medication-assisted treatment according to their needs and treatment regimen. During the residential program, if clients need treatment from outside specialists, Homeward Bound helps facilitate appointments and transportations.

Every client participates in 30 hours of addiction education, life-skills training, and therapeutic counseling. Programs follow evidence-based treatment protocols and can include parenting skills, anger management techniques, and developing coping mechanisms for mental illness and PTSD.

Many clients have suffered tragedies, physical injury, and psychological trauma. Homeward Bound has a full-time, on-site physician and 24-hour nurses who are trained in addiction recovery and trauma-informed care. Homeward Bound therapists help clients set manageable goals that include identifying and resisting triggers that lead them to drug or alcohol abuse.

Women in this residential program are connected to services such as specialized medical care, education, employment, and sober living facilities. Additionally, all clients are connected to Recovery Support Services who help with the continuation of recovery and sober living for up to 5 years after the client’s residential stay.

SPECIALIZED FEMALE INTENSIVE

We offer a program tailored for women who have children and whose rights are still in-tact, including those involved with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services or Family Drug Treatment Courts, and pregnant women with a substance use diagnosis always with the unity of the family in mind. We do not detoxify pregnant women but we do present alternatives. We work with other providers to meet the needs of children for services such as education for school-age children or pediatric health care.

Eligible women will meet financial and diagnostic criteria for the Texas Department of State Health Services-funded substance use disorder services. For these women, stays in our residential unit range from 60 to 90 days.

This service is offered at our Dallas - University Hills location.
